Help Me Troubleshoot My Browser

Here's an open call for help. I recently created my first web page, and have had teething difficulties. It all started because I wanted to do a web-based blog. Kind of difficult to do when you don't have a web page. So I threw together a very spartan page in MS Word, published it and immediately decided it looked too spartan. So I opened FrontPage, added a background image I liked and a photo og myself and some font colors. All well and good. Except that my page never showed any of these graphic attributes when viewed in Internet Explorer. So I learned a bit about HTML, made some changes. My friend Andy Karp now tells me my page looks good in IE. So I'm doing something right. But it still doesn't look right on my computer, except in Mozilla and Netscape. I've restored IE to its defaults. No change.

I must be missing something here, but I can't figure it out. Give me a hand.

My web page is here:
