Attention, Harlan Ellison Completists

"Knife in the Darkness," the episode of the '60s TV western series Cimarron Strip, written by Harlan Ellison, is available for streaming on Netflix or for purchase on DVD.
Frankly, I wouldn't bother. The 90-minute episode contains about 30 minutes of real plot, once you flense away the padding. Even then, there's nothing distinctive about the show. It's a ho-hum retread of the Jack the Ripper story in the setting of the town presided over by Marshal Crown (Stuart Whitman). Bernard Herrmann provided a routine score for the episode.
